In the writing of my new book, D Day for America, I had spent hours praying over America and the church. I had received visions and dreams before I finally wrote the book. I prayed over everything I wrote and intended it to be controversial.  Long before I wrote the book, my wife and I spent a number of years warning those we came in contact with concerning those things the Lord had shown me. Many of these people were our friends. Today, most of those Christian friends have little or nothing to do with us.

 

I went against traditional doctrine and man made teachings in our church to put out this book. I decided that what I had seen was of God and from the Lord. I decided to tell, preach, teach, and warn what the Lord gave me to anyone that would listen.  As a result, many in the denomination I was part of, turned away. For them and many who are in pulpits, the fall of America and judgment of the church is not something they want to be reminded of, let alone teach.  The following article is in response to questions I have received over the book. These are just a few.

 

I am convicted, what do I do?

 

John 16:7  ¶Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9  Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

 

If in the course of hearing the Word of God, reading an article with the Word in it, or even a book, you then become convicted of sin. That is, you see for the first time the light of the Gospel as it sheds and reveals the sins in your life.

 

Make no mistake about it that this is no accident. Many today in the pulpits in America preach a smooth sickly religious gospel that is no gospel. It does not confront the sinner or the saint with their transgressions. It preaches peace, peace, when there will be no peace.

 

The Holy Ghost, known also as the Holy Spirit or Comforter, will reprove or expose or make plain the sin. It will make you conscious of the righteousness and holiness of God and the coming judgment. By doing this, you develop a Godly sorrow. This sorrow leads to repentance, turning from your sins and following Christ.

 

By turning to the Lord in repentance and following him, you will escape the wrath of God in the final judgment. The second death will have no effect on you, but you will, though, as with all believers have to “live by faith”, and meet all troubles in this life with Gods help and leading. He will give you peace, and will not forsake you. His Spirit will bear witness with your spirit you are a child of God. In all this, God will not allow you to fail, if you keep your heart and eye on Him and Him only.

 

2 Corinthians 7:9  Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

 

Is there hope for me?

 

Ephesians 2:12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14  ¶For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16  And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17  And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

 

In the course of life, many people have a tendency to move away from God. The Lord always works in peoples lives. The comforter, whom, the Father has sent, works to bring you in close reunion and union with the Father, through Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua). It is this work of the Spirit of God that brings a sinner who is need of repenting to God. It is also this same Spirit who convicts the Saint who has done something wrong. There are those in the church today, scripture calls the “children of disobedience”. These are carnal Christians who have repented of their sins and were known as the “children of wrath”. The trouble is, these Christian believers have not turned away from the deeds of the flesh. That is those things the “children of wrath” do. These are carnal fleshly deeds that bring judgment upon the carnal Christian.  

 

 Ephesians 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephesians 5:6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Colossians 3:6  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

 

There is hope for you. If you as a believer have truly turned to the Lord and have him number one in your heart, then the wrath of God is not upon you. There will be tribulation in the world. You as with all believers may face a certain amount of this trouble yourself. As far as an American believer in this nation, you have a duty to pray for the nation, president, congress, and unbelievers. Along with this, you need to pray for the church.  God is sending judgment upon America. He has for many years, with many believers refusing to listen.

Is their forgiveness for me?

 

Colossians 1:12  ¶Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

 

There is forgiveness in God. Through Jesus Christ alone, we can come to the Lord and find the fullness in the Father by Him. The nations of men, however, try to find other ways to God. They strive with the Lord and His anointed, saying “let us cast their cords away from us” (see Psalm 2). It is important to note that God will send a delusion to the nations of men (see 2 Thess 2). Jesus warned in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 of the troubles of the end times. He said to “Watch and be ready”, as well as, saying “be not deceived”.  The nations of men will follow the “son of perdition” aka the Antichrist. He is the destroyer and will lead many to destruction through his deceptions with signs and wonders. Let all be cautioned here that the only truth is in the Word of God, and the Fullness of the Word of God who is Jesus Christ. Do not follow any other teaching, doctrine, or man. He alone is the “way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me”…Jesus Christ in John 14:6

 

 Is their only judgment ahead?

 

2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

 

1 Peter 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

 

Romans 1:29  Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30  Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31  Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

 

As far as the prophetic word, there is judgment coming. The Father, although has repeatedly given us a chance to repent. He still gives man chances. There will come a time just as in Noah’s day. The door will be shut by God as the final judgment falls upon the rebellious. This is not the Fathers desire. He wants all men to repent and find that place with Him in heaven.

 

America’s judgment in my book, D Day for America, specifically relates that this judgment is coming. I do not debate this at all. I do not know the time or the hour. I have my own ideas on that, but I do not relate those times as prophetic or as a teaching. The Day of Judgment upon America will arrive. I am not talking about a small matter here, but the judgment that I speak will change the landscape and democratic ideals of this nation forever. There will always be a land here and a people. But the life style we have known will be gone.

 

We have much to be thankful for. The time is coming though, when all this will be gone. It maybe months or years before the judgment I have seen arrives. I encourage you to get right with the Lord and stay that way. Serve Him and seek Him. Tell others and encourage them to repent as well. Pray for America and the church to repent. God is able and can heal the nation and peoples that repent. Remember Nineveh and Jonah. This nation did repent and God put aside the judgment. Although in later years Nineveh forgot this repentance and God judged her for it. This judgment will find its way into all nations. America is not alone.

 

The Apostle Paul gives us a final word on the matter.

 

Colossians 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
 
In one final word, there is a time of victory coming. This is a time when the true church will arise and walk in the fullness God desires us to walk in. This will be a time of battle between Good and evil, the forces of darkness and the true believer. Many will find the Martyr’s anointing. They will overcome by the “blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and by loving their lives, not unto the death” Rev 12:11
 

 

RECORD NUMBER OF EX-MUSLIMS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR
Spiritual revolution underway in Middle East.

More Muslims converted to faith in Jesus Christ over the past decade than at any other time in human history. A spiritual revolution is underway throughout North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. As a result, a record number of ex-Muslims are celebrating Christmas this year, despite intense persecution, assassinations, and widespread church bombings.

During the writing of Epicenter, my wife and kids and I lived in the Mideast for three months. During that time, I had the privilege of interviewing more than three dozen Arab and Iranian pastors and evangelical leaders throughout the region. The picture they paint is one of Christianity being dramatically resurrected in the region of its birth. A snapshot:

Iraq: more than 5,000 new Muslim converts to Christianity have been identified since the end of major combat operations, with 14 new churches opened in Baghdad, and dozens of new churches opened in Kurdistan, some of which have 500 to 800 members. Also, more than 1 million Bibles shipped into the country since 2003, and pastors report Iraqis are snatching them up so fast they constantly need more Bibles.

Egypt: some reports say 1 million Egyptians have trusted Christ over the past decade or so. The Egyptian Bible Society told me they used to sell about 3,000 copies of the JESUS film a year in the early 1990s. But last year they sold 600,000 copies, plus 750,000 copies of the Bible on tape (in Arabic) and about a half million copies of the Arabic New Testament. “Egyptians are increasingly hungry for God’s Word,” an Egyptian Christian leader told me. Last Christmas, I had the privilege of visiting the largest Christian congregation in the Middle East, which meets in an enormous cave on the outskirts of Cairo. Some 10,000 believers worship there every weekend. A prayer conference the church held in May 2005 drew some 20,000 believers.

Afghanistan: only 17 Muslim converts to Christianity before 9/11/01, but now more than 10,000. Dozens of baptisms every week.

Kazakstan: only 3 known Christians in 1990, but now more than 15,000.

Uzbekistan: no known Christians in 1990, but now more than 30,000.

Sudan: more than 1 million Sudanese have converted to Christianity just since 2000, and some 5 million have become Christians since the early 1990s, despite a radical Islamic regime and an on-going genocide that has killed more than 200,000. Seminaries are being held in caves to train pastors to shepherd the huge numbers of people coming to Christ. Why such a dramatic spiritual awakening? “People have seen real Islam, and they want Jesus instead,” one Sudanese evangelical leader told me.

Iran: in 1979, there were only 500 known Muslim converts to Christianity, but today Iranian pastors and evangelical leaders tell me there are more than 1 million Iranian believers in Jesus Christ, most of whom meet in underground house churches.

In December 2001, Sheikh Ahmad al Qataani, a leading Saudi cleric, appeared on a live interview on Aljazeera satellite television to confirm that, sure enough, Muslims were turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. “In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity,” Al Qataani warned. “Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity.”

Stunned, the interviewer interrupted the cleric. “Hold on! Let me clarify. Do we have six million converting from Islam to Christianity?” Al Qataani repeated his assertion. “Every year,” the cleric confirmed, adding, “a tragedy has happened.”

One of the most dramatic developments is that many Muslims — including Shiites in Iran and Iraq — are seeing dreams and visions of Jesus and thus coming into churches explaining that they have already converted and now need a Bible and guidance on how to follow Jesus. I describe a number of these stories in the book. Having just returned from three weeks in the Mideast, I have heard many more, and will be sharing some of them in the new year. This is in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. The Hebrew Prophet Joel told us that “in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days….And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Joel 2:28-32)

Bottom line: It’s not being reported by the mainstream media, but the God of the Bible is moving powerfully and dramatically throughout the Muslim world. The number of Arab and Iranian Christians is surging despite wars, rumors of wars, and terrible persecution. These fellow brothers and sisters now need our fervent prayers and our practical help as they seek to reach epicenter with the love and forgiveness of Jesus in 2007.

December seems somewhat unsuitable for the appearance of the promised hope of Christmas-the message of the birth of Jesus. Why then is this month of long, cold nights proper for celebrating the “Dayspring from on high”?

The audacious claim of Christmas is that, to redeem us, God Himself came in the most vulnerable human form. Multiple prophecies foretold His birth in Bethlehem of a virgin mother, of the line of David. Each prophecy is more than a prediction; it is a promise. He is the Messiah, the Promised One, Emmanuel, who fulfills the promise of reconciliation with God.

At Christmas 2006, we are still warring with an asymmetric enemy pledged to our ultimate destruction, and many argue that these are among the most difficult days our nation has faced. Yet Decembers past have seen American Patriots keep promises during many dark and trying times.

Surely, for our troops arrayed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those of us supporting them on the home front, our straits are not as severe as those pressing General George Washington during the early years of the Revolutionary War. As his Continental Army troops left bloody footprints along the path to Valley Forge, the good General fell to his knees for prayer in the snow, beseeching God’s guidance as to how he might persevere to victory.

Victory did come in the Christmas Campaign successes of 1776 at Trenton and Princeton, about which Washington presciently wrote, “If every nerve is not straind to recruit the New Army with all possible Expedition I think the game is pretty near up… No Man I believe ever had a greater choice of difficulties & less the means of extricating himself than I have-However under a full perswation of the justice of our Cause I cannot but think the prospect will brighten.”

A year later, however, came the aforementioned retreat to Valley Forge. Even with Christmas approaching, Washington’s discouragement was evident in his writing of “A character to lose-an estate to forfeit-the inestimable blessing of liberty at stake-and a life devoted, must be my excuse,” and about how “it was much easier to draw up remonstrances in a comfortable room by a good fire-side, than to occupy a cold bleak hill, and sleep under frost and snow, without clothes or blankets.”

However, on 17 December, Washington issued general orders: “Tomorrow being the day set apart by the Honorable Congress for public Thanksgiving and Praise; and duty calling us devoutly to express our grateful acknowledgements to God for the manifold blessings he has granted us, the General directs that the army remain in its present quarters, and that the Chaplains perform divine service with their several Corps and Brigades. And earnestly exhorts, all officers and soldiers, whose absence is not indispensably necessary, to attend with reverence the solemnities of the day.”

Lt. Col. Henry Dearborn’s diary entry of 18 December read, “This is Thanksgiving Day. God knows we have very little to keep it with, this being the third day we have been without flour or bread, and are living on a high, uncultivated hill, in huts and tents, lying on the cold ground. Upon the whole I think all we have to be thankful for is that we are alive and not in the grave with many of our friends.”

As Surgeon Albigence Waldo observed of that encampment, “Mankind is never truly thankful for the benefits of life, until they have experienced the want of them.”

We began as a nation of great promise and great promises-the sheer force of which compelled our Founding Fathers to persevere. Clearly, these mortal men believed human liberty to be the Gift of the Creator and they captured this belief in our nation’s seminal document: “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

Our Founders had promises to keep-as do we. In the coming year, then, may we look to the Christ Child, and may we embrace the promise He so faithfully fulfilled.

The claim that Emmanuel fulfilled the promised reconciliation with God challenges the rising conceit and doubt in our culture, that nothing can be known to a certainty. That is why this holiday of light, marked by the shining of the miraculous Christmas Star, is best honored at the deepest darkness during the year. The brightest promises are those made at the bleakest times.

During this Christmas season, and every day of the coming year, may God’s peace and blessings be upon you and all those around you. Merry Christmas!

 President Bush delays moving U.S. embassy to Jerusalem

President George W. Bush has delayed for another six months moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, citing national security interests, the White House said on Monday. Congress enacted legislation in 1995 calling for the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem, but the president can postpone the move every six months due to national security interests. The waiver has been used every six months since the law was passed.

Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War and annexed it in a move not recognized internationally. Palestinians want East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state, while Israel considers the entire city as its capital.

There are no embassies in Jerusalem. El Salvador and Costa Rica were the last countries to transfer their embassies to Tel Aviv from Jerusalem, announcing their decisions in August. “My administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem,” Bush said in a memorandum to the secretary of state dated Dec. 15.

“Moving our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem now would complicate our ability to help Israelis and Palestinians advance toward peace and the president’s two-state vision,” a White House official said on condition of anonymity.

Today I had a good long conversation with Zeph Daniel. We had connected over the Press Release contact I made with him. He emailed me back and wanted to do an interview. His wife Trish called and spoke to me about the date. We set up today Friday December 15 at 10 am mst.

Cellular Phones

Your cellular telephone has three major security vulnerabilities:

• Vulnerability to monitoring of your conversations while using the phone.
• Vulnerability of your phone being turned into a microphone to monitor conversations in the vicinity of your phone while the phone is inactive.
• Vulnerability to “cloning,” or the use of your phone number by others to make calls that are charged to your account.

Before discussing these vulnerabilities, here is a brief tutorial on how cellular phones function. They send radio frequency transmissions through the air on two distinct channels, one for voice communications and the other for control signals. When a cellular telephone is first turned on, it emits a control signal that identifies itself to a cell site by broadcasting its mobile identification number (MIN) and electronic serial number (ESN), commonly known as the “pair.”

When the cell site receives the pair signal, it determines if the requester is a legitimate registered user by comparing the requestor’s pair to a cellular subscriber list. Once the cellular telephone’s pair has been recognized, the cell site emits a control signal to permit the subscriber to place calls at will. This process, known as anonymous registration, is carried out each time the telephone is turned on or picked up by a new cell site.

Vulnerability to Monitoring

All cellular telephones are basically radio transceivers. Your voice is transmitted through the air on radio waves. Radio waves are not directional — they disperse in all directions so that anyone with the right kind of radio receiver can listen in.

Although the law provides penalties for the interception of cellular telephone calls, it is easily accomplished and impossible to detect. Radio hobbyists have web sites where they exchange cell phone numbers of “interesting” targets. Opportunistic hobbyists sometimes sell their best “finds.” Criminal syndicates in several major U.S. metropolitan areas maintain extensive cell phone monitoring operations.

Cell phones operate on radio frequencies that can be monitored by commonly available radio frequency scanners.

• If the cellular system uses analog technology, one can program a phone number, or a watch list of phone numbers, into a cell-monitoring device that automatically turns on a voice-activated tape recorder whenever one of the watch listed numbers is in use. Computer assisted, automatic monitoring allows monitoring a specific phone 24 hours a day, as the target moves from cell to cell, without any human assistance.
  
• If the cellular system uses newer digital technology, it is possible for a price affordable by most radio hobbyists to buy a digital data interpreter that connects between a scanner radio and a personal computer. The digital data interpreter reads all the digital data transmitted between the cellular site and the cellular phone and feeds this information into the computer. 2

It is easy for an eavesdropper to determine a target’s cellular phone number, because transmissions are going back and forth to the cellular site whenever the cell phone has battery power and is able to receive a call. For a car phone, this generally happens as soon as the ignition is turned on. Therefore, the eavesdropper simply waits for the target to leave his or her home or office and start the car. The initial transmission to the cellular site to register the active system is picked up immediately by the scanner, and the number can be entered automatically into a file of numbers for continuous monitoring.

One of the most highly publicized cases of cellular phone monitoring concerned former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich. A conference call between Gingrich and other Republican leaders was “accidentally” overheard and then taped. The conversation concerned Republican strategy for responding to Speaker Gingrich’s pending admission of ethics violations being investigated by the House Ethics Committee. The intercepted conversation was reported in the New York Times and other newspapers. 1

Pagers have similar vulnerabilities. In 1997, police arrested officials of a small New Jersey company, Breaking News Network, that was monitoring pager messages to New York City leaders and police, fire, and court officials, including messages considered too sensitive to send over the police radio. They were selling the information to newspaper and television reporters. The offenses carry a penalty of up to five years in prison and fines of $250,000 for each offense. 3

Vulnerability to Being Used as a Microphone

  A cellular telephone can be turned into a microphone and transmitter for the purpose of listening to conversations in the vicinity of the phone. This is done by transmitting to the cell phone a maintenance command on the control channel. This command places the cellular telephone in the “diagnostic mode.” When this is done, conversations in the immediate area of the telephone can be monitored over the voice channel. 4

The user doesn’t know the telephone is in the diagnostic mode and transmitting all nearby sounds until he or she tries to place a call. Then, before the cellular telephone can be used to place calls, the unit has to be cycled off and then back on again. This threat is the reason why cellular telephones are often prohibited in areas where classified or sensitive discussions are held.

Vulnerability to Cloning

Cellular telephone thieves don’t steal cellular telephones in the usual sense of breaking into a car and taking the telephone hardware. Instead, they monitor the radio frequency spectrum and steal the cell phone pair as it is being anonymously registered with a cell site.

Cloning is the process whereby a thief intercepts the electronic serial number (ESN) and mobile identification number (MIN) and programs those numbers into another telephone to make it identical to yours. Once cloned, the thief can place calls on the reprogrammed telephone as though he were the legitimate subscriber.

Cloning resulted in approximately $650 million dollars worth of fraudulent phone calls in 1996. Police made 800 arrests that year for this offense.5  Each day more unsuspecting people are being victimized by cellular telephone thieves. In one case, more than 1,500 telephone calls were placed in a single day by cellular phone thieves using the number of a single unsuspecting owner. 6

The ESN and MIN can be obtained easily by an ESN reader, which is like a cellular telephone receiver designed to monitor the control channel. The ESN reader captures the pair as it is being broadcast from a cellular telephone to a cell site and stores the information into its memory. What makes this possible is the fact that each time your cellular telephone is turned on or used, it transmits the pair to the local cellular site and establishes a talk channel. It also transmits the pair when it is relocated from one cell site to another.

Cloning occurs most frequently in areas of high cell phone usage — valet parking lots, airports, shopping malls, concert halls, sports stadiums, and high-congestion traffic areas in metropolitan cities. No one is immune to cloning, but you can take steps to reduce the likelihood of being the next victim.

Cellular Phone Security Measures

The best defense against these three major vulnerabilities of cell phones is very simple — do not use the cell phone. If you must use a cell phone, you can reduce the risk by following these guidelines:

• Because a cellular phone can be turned into a microphone without your knowledge, do not carry a cellular phone into any classified area or other area where sensitive discussions are held. (This is prohibited in many offices that handle classified or sensitive information.)

• Turn your cellular telephone on only when you need to place a call. Turn it off after placing the call. Do not give your cellular phone number to anyone and don’t use your cell phone for receiving calls, as that requires leaving it on all the time. Ask your friends and associates to page you if they need to talk with you. You can then return the page by using your cellular telephone.

• Do not discuss sensitive information on a cellular phone. When you call someone from your cell phone, consider advising them you are calling from a cell phone that is vulnerable to monitoring, and that you will be speaking generally and not get into sensitive matters.

• Do not leave your cellular telephone unattended. If your cell phone is vehicle-mounted, turn it off before permitting valet parking attendants to park the car, even if the telephone automatically locks when the car’s ignition is turned off.

• Avoid using your cellular telephone within several miles of the airport, stadium, mall, or other heavy traffic locations. These are areas where radio hobbyists use scanners for random monitoring. If they come across an interesting conversation, your number may be marked for regular selective monitoring.

• If your cellular service company offers personal identification numbers (PIN), consider using one. Although cellular PIN services are cumbersome and require that you input your PIN for every call, they are an effective means of thwarting cloning.
