Va. Man, 96, Recovering From Night in Cold Van

Prostler Samuels is a methodical man, not one to appreciate a break in routine. And so, after his rescue from a parked church van where he sat freezing in his wheelchair for 18 hours, the 96-year-old nursing home resident only wanted to know one thing: Where were his hamburgers?

Every Sunday after church, Samuels was driven by another congregant to McDonald’s, always the one at Duke Street and Quaker Lane in Alexandria. There, he ordered two hamburgers (with nothing but mayo) and a large Coca-Cola (with plenty of ice and one straw, please). It was a meal he looked forward to each week and, like the 11 a.m. service at Alfred Street Baptist Church in Old Town Alexandria, was something he rarely missed.

WHO: Flesh-Eating Disease Making Comeback

GENEVA  -  A virtually eradicated disease that eats through people’s skin, cartilage and bones is reappearing in Africa, Asia, and South America, the World Health Organization warned Thursday.

Yaws, which is triggered by bacterial infection and can cause debilitating deformations, particularly in children under 15, once affected 50 million people worldwide before a massive treatment program in the 1950s almost succeeded in wiping it out.

“What happened then is that people focused on other things and took their eye off yaws,” WHO spokesman Ian Simpson said.

“The attempt now is to try and see what can be done to make sure that the number of cases doesn’t increase and that a new effort is made to eradicate it,” he said.

At present, some 500,000 people mostly in poor, rural areas are affected by yaws, according to WHO.

• Summary: The trusting in the arm of the flesh is what we do best in the USA. Our lives are so entwined with our gadgets, technology, massive food supplies, overstocked stores that we do not know as our forefathers did, who is our God.  This casting away of the Lord God and trusting in ourselves will bring our fears upon us along with desolation.

Jeremiah 17:5  ¶Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

These days can be extremely trying. The many voices that want to be heard can overwhelm anyone seeking to find knowledge and truth. For those in
America, hard times is not what we are used too. Our forefathers from the start of this great nation faced the times with the knowledge that death
and suffering lay ahead. My grandmother came to our part of the country in a covered wagon, before the 1900’s and times were tough. There were no
cars, roads to speak of, nice comfortable houses with forced air heat in winter and air conditioning in the summer. Frozen foods were those things
left in the ice house or left out in the cold of the winter’s night. This was a time when the Indian wars, cowboys, drinking, and violence were the
way of life out here. The war between the cattlemen and the sheep men had just gotten over, while the civil war was still in the minds of many.

Moreover, today we find that many of this generation simply doesn’t know what is coming or don’t seem to care. The many prophets speaking smooth
things and casting their lines for profit are many. The preachers and churches follow up with their own brand of psycho-babble. If it has an introduction,
three points, and a conclusion, we call it good preaching. Of course don’t leave out the fact that we don’t want to hear repentance or that we are sinners.
We especially don’t want to hear that we must follow the Lords commandments.

For many they have simply learned to trust in man. They trust in doctors for healing, lawyers for the courts, cooks for the food to be prepared, preachers
for the church, and the USA for a safe haven. Everywhere we look in America; our lives depend on technology, freedoms, and other people. Our lives are so entwined
that if something did happen, most would not know what to do. If the food was not in Wal-Mart, what then? Where would we go? If our Cars needed to fuel up and the
gas was not in the station down the street, then what?  For many, they would simply look to the government and those men or women in charge to help them. Just like
Katrina, many would wait in a corral like sheep or cattle, waiting for man to arrive with help.

That is the problem we have today. Our trust must be in the Lord. The times are coming when just what we feared will come upon us. Why, because we have cast off the
Lord our God and his commandments.  

Isaiah 66:4  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they
did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

When there are no doctors, trust in the Lord. When the food is short, seek the Lord. Violence erupts and the nation is in chaos, trust in the Lord. This kind of trust does
not just arrive. You must work at it. It comes from following the Lord, keeping his commands, and seeking Him in prayer and fasting.  The Lord will make himself known to those
who truly seek him with their whole heart.

Jeremiah 29:13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

As you learn to develop your relationship with the Lord today, then tomorrow you will be ready. For the Lord doesn’t leave his people without hope. He is the deliverer,
provider, and salvation for those who trust in Him. This is the living God I am talking about.  We are not talking about Buddha, Allah, or the millions of Hindu Gods. We are
not talking about a Catholic God or a protestant God. We are talking about the Lord God, who sent His son, Messiah Yeshua to die on the cross for your sins and mine. It is this
God, whom we belong to, as a result of repentance and faith. It is this seeking the Lord, following Him, and keeping those things he wants us to do, which reveals the Lord God in us.

Today, I call upon you to seek the Lord, without which no one will make it through the coming calamity. He is calling you to seek Him today, for tomorrow; you may not be able to
find him.  The stark warning out of Proverbs should awaken everyone to hearken to the Lord today. For when your fear cometh as desolation and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind,
when distress and anguish comes upon you, then you will surely call upon the Lord God.

Proverbs 1:27  When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28  Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29  For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30  They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31  Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32  For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33  But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

That is why today, you need to call upon the Lord.

13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

For if your hearts are so taken up in this life, the snare which is to come will arrive and find you not prepared. For it is given to this people as a warning that you need to take heed. 

Luke 21:34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Editors note: From the Watchman. Many today, including myself have looked at Aaron Ruso’s film about the Federal Income tax lies. There is a growing movement of Americans who believe to continue to pay taxes is a lie. So they refuse to do so. I have contacted first hand certain people who have had seminars on this and also agree that there is no law that says you must pay Federal Income Tax. There simply is no law, or none has been found. This is the truth. The government doesn’t believe you have a choice. The government also believes you are a criminal if you follow this course.

The fact is this. According to those I have spoken to on this matter: “if you fail to just pay tax or file tax as you should, the government will come and prosecute you.”

If you follow the course of this resistence be prepared for chaos, jail, and possibly death. I was in North Dakota at the time of the Gordon Call (last name spelling question)  incident. The boys came with black ops, guns and the rest is known. He is dead. His dog and son are dead. Gordon affliated with certain N.Dakota farmers who thought paying Federal Income tax was wrong.

In defending themselves against a federal government they claim is operating outside the government’s jurisdiction, Ed and Elaine Brown have filed 42 motions in Concord, New Hampshire’s, US District Court and had every one denied. The couple then spent three days in court last week listening to the federal government try to build an income tax case against them.

“Of course the government failed. They didn’t prove a thing. There’s nothing to prove. We didn’t violate a statute because there is no statute, and they don’t even have jurisdiction. In fact, the court is operating out of a building that New Hampshire never ceded to the federal government–as the law requires in order to have jurisdiction over anyone who has ever been tried in that court!”

But it gets worse. When Judge McAuliffe gave the Browns a draft copy of the jury instructions he planned to deliver at the end of the trial, the contents convinced Ed Brown that McAuliffe would never let him present the kind of defense he planned.

Ed Brown called me on Saturday evening and said that it was clearly pointless for them to go back into that courtroom, and they will not go. Consequently, he fully expects an armed assault by law enforcement at his home on Tuesday, which he and his friend Michael believe will result in a Waco-type scenario. Quipped Michael, “At least we’ll be warm.”

Ed Brown said he had one simple message for America: “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.”

CAA learns that a Christmas celebration activity held by a house church in Duolun County, Inner Mongolia, was attacked by the local police, 3 church leaders are being detained.

On December 29, 2006 about 30 policemen and the staff of the local Religious Affair Bureau in 5 vehicles attacked a Christmas celebration gathering in Duolun County, Inner Mongolia. They declared the celebration as “illegal gathering,” and three church leaders were detained and sentenced to 15 days administrative detention.

This is the second celebration activity held by the church during Christmas. The 3 detained Christians are: Sister Liu Guanghua, 42 years old; Sister Zhi Huiping, 41 years old; and Sister Zhi Ruiping, 35 years old. All of them are being held at Duolun County Detention Centre.

CAA also learns that brother Lou Yuanqi, a house church leader in Xinjiang, who was rearrested December 23, 2006 was allowed to be bailed pending trial December 29, 2006. It is believed that the arrest is to deter the Christians from holding any Christmas celebration.

“To attack and arrest peaceful Christians during Christmas season is contrary to both the spirit of Christmas and the Chinese law. “said Bob Fu, the president of CAA, “we urge the Chinese government to release the 3 innocent church leaders immediately.”

Without Hope, there simply is no cure. Hope is one ingredient that God uses to keep the faith alive in men. It is this Hope, this oil being supplied by The Lord himself which has kept man going for centuries. It is the hope we have in Gods mercy and his love. It is that hope we have, coming from the scriptures, being brought alive by God himself. Jeremiah had a mission to warn Israel of their impending disastrous judgment by God for their forsaking him. It was Jeremiah who called the Lord, the “hope of Israel”. He further went on to say that those who forsook the Lord would be written in the earth and shall be ashamed because they have “forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters”.

Jeremiah 17:13  O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

The nuggets of prophecy are embedded in the Old Testament. It was this embedding which gave a people something to look for. Without it, people find themselves lost, without God, and without hope. This hope propelled itself through centuries as the prophets in Israel gave the vision of God to not only Israel but to the Gentiles. For it would be through this Word that the Gentiles would come to know salvation.

This hope was clearly seen when Jesus Christ, Messiah Yeshua was born. When his parents came to the temple as was the custom of the law, bringing the Messiah babe, one person was waiting. This person, who was waiting for the ‘consolation of Israel’, was called Simeon. He lived in Jerusalem. He was a just and devout man. The Holy Ghost was upon him and it had been revealed to him by the Holy Ghost that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Simeon had been led of the Spirit to come to the temple that day. As he did, so the family arrived with the Messiah in their midst, carrying the small babe with them.

Simeon took the small babe up in his arms, realizing that this was the ‘Hope of Israel’, the ‘Hope and comfort for his people’ and also the ‘salvation of the world, including the gentiles’, blessed God and said: “Lord, now let thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou has prepared before the face of all people.” Luke 2:25-32. This was indeed the Messiah, Simeon had been given hope. He finally saw the hope fulfilled in the Messiah.

That is why Christ came. To bring us hope. Being that hope, only the sinless Son of God could die for our sins, blotting out the transgressions against all of us. He re-united us to our God. Today, this hope is alive in literally millions upon millions of believers in this Messiah Yeshua. Yet, if we have hope just in this Messiah for this life only, we are most miserable. That is, Christ died to save sinners, and to lift us up out of our despair and sin. But our life in Christ is not about just this life only. Ours is a hope beyond all other hope. This hope is eternal.

1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

At one time we were all, those who now believe, were without Christ. We were aliens from the true Commonwealth of Israel. We as Gentiles and even Jews were strangers from the covenants of promise. There was no hope and we were without God in this world. Then Christ came, fulfilling prophecies and gave hope at the same time.

Ephesians 2:12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

It is that hope today, in those who believe in Christ, which supplies oil of gladness through the Holy Spirit. It is that Spirit which reveals to us this Christ, leads us to God, makes us in his image, and bears witness with our spirits, we are indeed the ‘Children of God’. It is that hope we have today amidst all the turmoil in the world which keeps us going. This hope does not make us ashamed, but rather it reveals the ‘love of God being shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given to us’.

Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

As men and women today vainly try to create world peace, we have another hope. As people work to keep global warming, pollution, control population growth, fight plagues and pestilences, and even terrorism, our hope is in the Lord. The truth of the matter today is, ours is a home which has hope. This hope we have is laid upon the foundation of Christ Jesus and forms in heaven, where no rust can corrupt. It is not a man made hope, nor does it lay in man. No matter what man does or the devil, our hope in Christ is secure.

Colossians 1:5  For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Our hope as Paul told Titus is in God, “who cannot lie”. It is this God who promised before the world began, that there would be eternal life with him”.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Paul considered himself an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God. This God, Paul said was ‘our savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope’.

1 Timothy 1:1  ¶Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

In the midst of the shipwrecks, persecutions, fasting, beatings, and imprisonment, Paul had hope. He saw all the things he faced as dung compared to the faith and future with Christ Jesus. His was a hope of eternal life with God. So too, ours must be a hope of eternal life with God. For all of us, our hope says that God “cannot lie, as he promised this before the world began”.

Your hope today, nurtured and taught in you by the Holy Ghost, brings you to this fact. You must be ‘looking for that blessed hope’. This hope is the ‘glorious appearing of the great God and savior Jesus Christ.’

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

For when this Savior appears again, the second time, it will not be as a babe in a manger. He is not coming to die on the cross again. His is not a duty to conquer sin, death, and hell, for he already has done that. Bringing salvation to its final and full completion in the children of God is what is coming. This is why you have hope today. This is why, as Simeon looked upon the babe in his arms and said “mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou has prepared before the face of all people”; so too, your eyes will behold the literal embodiment and presence of the True Savior and God, Jesus Christ. He is coming as True Lord of Lords and King of Kings. This is your hope today, tomorrow, and for eternity. So, look up, your redemption draws nigh, even as the turmoil in the earth gets worse and worse, your hope and future only looks better and better.

In an another interview with Zeph, we covered the upcoming things to America in regards to Prophecy. There is no doubt many see this year as an important year prophetically. The alarm is to be sounded to all people. This alarm means you need to be right with the Lord. You will be found out either way. The smelter of the Lord is coming to this nation. When that comes, the faith of many will be tested.

While many wait for the rapture or good times to come. For those who are watching, the state of the Laodacian church, the nationwide repulsive sin, and the rise of New age occultism is tremendous. The church itself is caught up in a professional psycho-babble which teaches man made doctrines and inventions of philosophy.  The church itself is swept up with many church goers totally ignorant of the fact of this.

The truth today is, wake up America and wake up church. This is our message. Our duty is to wake up all those around us. So too, we provide tools for you to be informed, taught, and aware of what is happening. There is a growing movement through the internet and reaching out in many ways to the world. From this forum comes the digital signals of the shortwave, radio, and video. Add to this podcasts, articles, websites, and more. With all this the word is getting out to many people of what is coming.

I encourage you today to seek the Lord as never before. Be sure to place faith and confidence in him. I urge you to walk in peace during this time. The Lord will give you peace.

Telling the Truth, In the Land of Deception

Such is the way of deceiving people. Wherever you walk or step, there lays in wait this ugly creature called deception. Especially in today’s world, it is everywhere. How can you or I know the truth in this land where we walk? Even telling the truth and getting people to believe it can be an almost tiring task. For opinions are everywhere, and as we all know, opinions are not truth. An opinion is just that, a person thinking which is spoken out loud from the heart. It is that which may seem like truth, but this is no guarantee of it being truth.

Wordweb defines truth several different ways. First it is a fact that has been verified. Second it is conformity to reality. Third it is a true statement. Finally, it is described as a quality of being near to true value. As we look we find that a fact is a fact, but not a truth until it has been verified. When we verified the fact then is truth. If a fact is not verified, then can it still be a fact. Take for instance a true account of someone who has seen a UFO. The account can be a true account of what happened. Even if he or she cannot prove it, does this make it a fact and also a truth? Or can it be just a factual event of what happened, one that is not truth because it cannot be verified. But what if suddenly we could verify UFO’s and Aliens, would their presence represent the truth? Or could it be a fact that such things exist, as such this would be true. But their existence in no way is the final authority of what is true? This is the crux of the issue. Just because an event or person can be proven to exist, this does not mean as such, they represent the last word on what is truthful!
