Chapter 2
The kingdoms of Greatness,
the many Babylon’s, taking heed to the warnings.
1 Peter 5:13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
=>America, has had many reasons to Rejoice.
I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt, at first, this rejoicing was born out of thankfulness.
God for His grace that allowed such a nation as this to be created.
Because of the many graces and benefits given to this country, we over time had forgotten God
The Lord told Israel not to forget the Lord thy God, when they came into the land from whence he had delivered them. That land was a land of bondage, called Egypt.
Israel arrived in their new land of promise
Israel would be full, wanting nothing. They would have good houses to dwell in, have herds and flocks, money and wealth; they in fact would be prosperous
Prosperity and safety would lead to pride.
This pride would cause their hearts to be lifted up and they would forget the Lord thy God.
This was the God who had answered their prayers, who delivered them from all their fears and troubles.
This deliverer was the Lord who also took away their sins and iniquities.
They would thus be tempted to forget the source of all these blessings the Lord their God.
Deuteronomy 8:11 Â Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
12 Â Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; 13 Â And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; 14 Â Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
