(Note from JD) Our co-worker in China has been away for 2 weeks at children’s camp in NZ. She received the prayer needs below and they are many. You will read about some victories and definite prayer needs. We need to hear from the Lord as to those we need to fund.

Region #6

1. Both sister Sarah and Sister Zhao said there were many orphans in G. province. Sister Zhao saw many poor orphans stayed under the bridge at the train station. She said there were 10 new students from the countryside who would go to study in Brother Ju’s school starting from this March. She asked that whether we were interested in supporting them.

2. Brother Peter M:
2.1 The co-workers’ life standard has improved; the offering situation in the church became better. Before some families were in debt, now the husbands could go out to work.

2.2 The senior’s home debt has been paid. Thank you and those who sent offerings PTL. Pray for more supply for their living expenses. Brother Yuan’s family are getting very tired for serving the old folks, they need rest.

2.3 Brother Yuan’s Mum sister Su: something ( maybe a tumor) grown up on her hand’s bone, she needs to go to the hospital for treatment daily, it will last for 2 months. His wife, has irregular menstruation, she is painful during menstruation, no good result after long period curing.

2.4 In Y. city, the house is too small to hold so many people, they are going to buy a bigger house, it will cost $29,000 they have $5,500 saved now, and they plan to settle this matter in April.

2.5 Please pray for the musical class; the youth class’ leader sister Li health; the brothers’ meeting; Middle and high school’s students’ meeting; Middle and high school and university’s students’ meeting; co-workers’ and youth meetings; Husband and wife marriage seminar.

2.6 Before the Spring Festival the church will use some funds to help the poor, pray for the funds. This is a traditional time for evangelism each year.

2.7 For the coming school new term: pray for the tuition for the co-workers’ children. Continually pray for Sister Tai’s debt.

2.8 City evangelism in five cities. They will send co-workers to start new churches in these cities; they need travel, lodging expenses. May God rise up more local workers.

2.9 Most of the church members are sisters, ask God to rise up more brothers to serve Him. Normally the brothers work for supplying the family.

2.10 They have one day fast monthly for the whole church, pray for church revival.

2.11 There are many Buddhism temples on Beishan Mountain in Jilin city, so there are more spiritual warfare in that city. Pray for the co-worker Brother J. Y. take away his weakness , give him more courage.

(Note from JD) We have uncovered a problem in the SD church leadership that makes them unacceptable to manage the orphanage we have been working to start. The Lord has been good to us to be involved with them. We are hopeful that by exposing this there can be repentance and restoration. There are many good Christians in this church; pray for them.

3. Brother Peter D:
3.1 Three Muslims converted into Christians, in last Dec. they were sentenced to 3, 5, 7 years service in prison. Due to this, it is not safe to contact with church leader.

3.2 Pray for faith strengthening of many new believers from the minor nationalities: They can only meet secretly.

3.3 There were 100 believers went to preach in another county, was found by the police, the police asked “Who led you here?” An old sister(a widow) answered “Me” “Who asked you to take them here?” “God” Then she was detained for 1 week. She has 3 sons: one had infantile paralysis, one’s leg was broken, one was paralyzed wholly. She prayed faithfully, 3 sons all got well completely; they could all go out to work now.

(Note from JD) We visited this church last September and was very impressed with their outreach and training for new Christians. Pray this new persecution will increase their love for Jesus and give them more fire for His work.

4. Brother Zhao:
On 6 Jan. Sunday, because the person who was in charge of opening the church door went back to his home town, so the door was opened late, many people waited outside of the door. The neighbors thought they were doing network marketing, and phoned the police. When Zhao was serving the Lord’s Supper, the police came. They waited till the meeting finished. The police confiscated all the cash, bank book, and the accounting book. 8-9 co-workers stayed behind to face the police with Zhao. They were taken to the police station for interrogation. The co-workers were released before 22:00; Zhao was released before 1:00am.

In the afternoon, the police went to Zhao’s home, messed up his home, took away his books, CDs, bank book(they threatened that they were going to freeze it . Zhao said when he was preaching in an evangelism about 10,000 attended the meeting last year, the police had noticed him.

Zhao said he was going to BJ to consult lawyer for this incident on 22 Jan. The church in the capital city has 80-90 people, 2/3 are university students. To avoid disturbing the neighbors, they were going to rent a house in the office building, which can contain 150 people; it will cost $6,700 per year. Now the church has been closed. They began cell group meeting. Brother Samuel confirmed this matter.

PASTOR ZHANG ~ 2ND LETTER TO CHINESE PRESIDENT
January 13, 2008

Dear Respected President,
Merry Christmas! Today is Christmas Day. It is on this day that Jesus, the savior of the world, was born, which brings peace to China and around the world. Moreover, today is a momentous and joyous day all the world over. However, driven to desperation, I wrote you a second letter. Although I am not sure whether you can read it, I am sure that you will not be ferocious with me, an uneducated hairdresser. I would like to speak to you about the truth of the harmonious society that you have consistently advocated. Some corrupt political officials, who are always deceiving their superiors and subordinates, bring disgrace to you and our Party. I am determined to sacrifice my life for Jesus and our peaceful nation, even though I may be imprisoned or sentenced to death, if only for the hope that China will be really harmonious, strong, prosperous, free in religion, and full of love.

My orphanage was forced to move out of its building on Christmas Day. I am shocked as to how people would be able to drive these orphans out of their school and force them to be homeless. I have been preaching the Gospel and have done well for more than ten years in Beijing, but as of now I have become an opponent to the Party and our State. The police office, the Religion Bureau and the United Front Work Department in Sanhe City, have disregarded what they have heard at the conference of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the 18th of December. Instead they have struck the Chinese Home Church Alliance and have begun persecuting Christians even worse than before. What’s more, you have been emphasizing that our Party give fundamental consideration to the people’s interests, and unite the religious believers at large in hopes of achieving a better society. We are always trying our best to fulfill these goals. Why are they always treating me as an enemy?

Is it not natural for Christians to celebrate Christmas Day? It is a normal religious activity, which should be protected by the Constitution. Unfortunately, on Christmas day many tragedies have taken place in the homeland: five Christians were arrested in Shangqiu city Henan province; three were arrested in Yichun city Helongjiang province; orphans were forced to leave school and leave their home in Sanhe City, Hubei Province. What’s worse, the landlord was called and threatened not to let us spend Christmas Day in the home, by the Director of Security Order in the village. The plain-clothes police, head of police office, District of Dongba Town, Chaoyang Area, Beijing. The officials stated that if we spent Christmas Day in our church, they would confiscate the land contract. “The land is mine, and the house is yours; I will seize your contract, and dismantle your house; you will be put to prison by the Religious Bureau and police office and United Front Work Department”, the district pretentiously said to the landlord. The landlord dared not to disobey their orders, and we had to spend Christmas Day in a hotel on the 23rd of December. President Hu, the Land belongs to the Nation, but the district tells us arrogantly that it is his. They intimidate the populace, which brings great crimes to the Party, our Nation and the People, and destroys the great blueprint of building a peaceful society. Unexpectedly, these orphans and students were driven out of the yard (20 rooms), which was rented for five years by Chinese Home Church Alliance in Beixiangkou, Yanjiao Town, Sanhe City, Hebei Province.

These homeless orphans were driven out by the town government officials, police office, Religious Bureau and United Front Work Department in Sanhe City with their ulterior schemes. The school (main in English and computer) was attacked by them on the 14th of October, and I was taken to be questioned by the chief of Religious Bureau in Langfang City, but he found me blameless. My phone was inspected and my personal freedom was kept under close custody during the opening of the Seventeenth National People’s Congress. A foreign teacher and some students were driven out by threatening students and orphans with their tricks on the 28th of October. The head of the village threatened to cut off the supply of electricity if we did not move out on the 18th of November. They cut off our electricity on the December 5; we had to buy a power generator, because the electrical engineer refused to help us. We had never gone against the electric energy consumption and paid our electric bill on time every month. Why would they cut off the electricity without permission? I called to the electric power supply bureau in Sanhe City for the reason many times on the 9th, 10th and 12th of December. I have heard nothing from them to this day. I brought a lawsuit against the electric power supply bureau of Sanhe City on December 17. The court in Sanhe City did not handle the case, instead, they asked me to look for the help of the municipal government, and I went to meet the minister of the United Front Work Department and the director of the Religious Bureau, but they both did not care. “It is none of our business”, they both replied. Around five o’clock in the afternoon, the landlord forced us to move. Liu Mingyi, the landlord, was threatened that his house would be demolished and he would become homeless, if I did not move in three days. These orphans were forced to give up school on December 20th. Children have rights to receive compulsory education, ensured definitely in article 2, 4 and 57 of “the Compulsory Education”. These orphans were driven out for the reason that they had no fostering certificate and residence permit. These children cried to go to school. The five orphans are respectively only seven years old, eight years old, eleven years old, twelve years old, fourteen years old. They have no capacity to live and they now have had to suffer and starve on the pavement. Perhaps they will endanger the society one day, which is not good for building the well-off society. The law becomes these officials’ means to persecute the common people. These officials are not the executors of the laws, but the bane of our nation and people. Is it not the peaceful society that we try our best to construct? “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” (Romans: 13/1). Therefore, we Christians stand on the right side of the law. However, it is written that on the Bible, “For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong” (Romans: 13/3). What these local officials do is in diametric opposition.

President Hu, I, Zhang Ming-xuan used to be a hairdresser, instead, today I have become God’s son, the disciple of Jesus, a pastor. I have been always obeying the word of God, submitting myself to the authority according to the teachings of the Bible. The Bible tells us to love the world like loving yourself, how can I show no emotion to these orphans. I was arrested more than twelve times by the police office and the Religious Bureau, but I was found not guilty and released. They strike the Chinese Home Church Alliance with all means, which would awaken more people of good sense, which also makes me believe in love and conscience. I believe China will become a nation of laws and a developed and religiously free country under your leadership.

We must give Hamas our admiration. They arranged mass demonstrations
against the Bush visit which received nearly the media spin of the visit
itself. Well done, fellahin. As for Israel, hum ho. A few thousand
“protesters” left Jerusalem to build new “settlements” far from
Jerusalem and Bush. Try to imagine these people holding signs on Bush’s
routes in Jerusalem. Oh, forget it, they blew the chance to give
Israel’s side of things.

A few brave writers were arrested for handing out booklets to the
reporters giving the real facts, and there was a campaign to line
Jerusalem’s streets with anti-Bush posters. One example is found at

But the usual provocateurs were at work. Police Intelligence agent
Itamar Ben Gvir was arrested twice, yes twice in less than a day, for
distributing his “inciteful”posters giving the cops the authority to
knock down the rest.

Two days before Bush arrived, the Iranians challenged American ships in
the Gulf Of Tonkin or wherever. We know that because the Navy released a
5 minute clip proving it. What provocations they took before were not
shown on any clip. And guess what? The 3,000 settlement builders bought
the propaganda and announced that America should attack Iran.

Oh, the stupidity of Israel’s “protesters.”

Their argument requires intellectual depth. Before Bush arrived, Fatah
and the Shabak continued their murder campaign against the most vital
components of Israel’s defence, the children of Yesha’s rabbis. But the
deceased children, Amikan Amichai and David Rubin, with their dying
breaths, killed one attacker and wounded another. They were proven to be
paid agents of Fatah Intelligence, who undoubtedly found their victims
in an obscure valley with Israeli Shabak help.

And no one pursued the deadly truth of the “peacemakers” and how they
are making their peace. Yes, Jews do murder Jews, even if they don’t
always pull the trigger.

The facts are there for anyone who cares about the disintegration of
Israel. The government started a futile campaign to bring Israelis home.
It announced that over 30,000 Israelis left the country this year, most
for the U.S. Then came the immigration figures. The worst in 20 years.
Only 19,000 arrived and fewer than 3,000 from the US.

But that pales in comparison to the IDF campaign to stop youths from
refusing to serve. Their abnormal idea is to hand out gold cards to
soldiers. Well, why not considering that 28% of males are now draft
dodgers, up from 18% a decade ago. One of the main reasons for the
terrifying rise in dodging cited is the IDF’s role in removing Jews from
Gush Katif. I wore my IDF uniform with pride twenty years ago. Today I
add, good for you, dodgers.

Bush arrived in Israel. The Jews could have told him he was an unwelcome
pest in their home. But, as we all expected, they blew their chance.
