Adversity and the Grace of God to Keep the Believer

Things continue to move quickly, at least that is what my wife and I concluded this morning as we headed out for a 5 am workout. There is no doubt the news that flows out of the many sources is overwhelming at times. Every hour, every minute, we get news from many sources flying through cyber space to our website emails. Maintaining these sites has become more than a full time job, along with everything else. The news however comes in torrents and waves.

From all over the globe visitors have found the news sites of the WIBR/WARN Radio. From Australia, China, all over America, and Europe, plus points in between like Thailand, people have left their mark on our sites. Although we never meet them, the thought of reaching a vast audience is hard to believe. This technology allows us to Warn people of the Coming Day of the LORD, even here from the mountains and plains of Wyoming.

I know that the times coming will be tough, more than tough, downright terrible. But I am assured that our God and LORD, even Yeshua will embrace us and comfort us in all struggles we may go through. I am persuaded of that especially today because of the LORD reminding me of Jeremiah 15 and Acts 23. Both these sections are vivid reminders that God calls people to do his work. When he does, he also takes care of them. Now we may not be perfect, and we may get tired, but the LORD is there. When the Apostle Paul was faced with persecution, he wound up in jail. That night the LORD stood by him to strengthen him.

Acts 23:11 And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

Paul went on to testify in Rome. It is good to note that the LORD stood by Paul at just the right moment when he needed it. The LORD also reminds us that in the times to come, he will not leave us nor forsake us.

Further we must also note Jeremiah, the ‘weeping prophet’. One who as in this verse of chapter fifteen said, “woe is me, my mother, that thou have borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth.” Here let it be noted that he had a message from the LORD to Israel. It was an unpopular message and one that caused him to become a man of ‘contention’ to all those around him. It seemed that all the earth hated him; Jeremiah even said “every one of them doth curse me.”

Jeremiah 15:10 ¶Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.

11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

It is important to note as well that Jeremiah called upon the LORD here asking him to “remember me, visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors.” A time in his life when the trouble was too much too bear. Now the LORD did not forget Jeremiah. But at the time of intense trouble, when all men hate you, it does seem like you’re alone. But in this section we also find that Jeremiah said of the LORD’s Words, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me the joy and the rejoicing of mine heart, for I am called by thy name.” Jeremiah found comfort in the Word of the LORD. At a time when anguish, trouble, and intense anger come at you when you are doing the LORDS Work, remember to eat the Word of the LORD. With it will come rejoicing, peace, and the presence of the LORD.

Jeremiah 15:15 ¶O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

As we encounter and walk through the tough days to come, I have a message as does many others who walk with the LORD. The message is one that the nations and people don’t want to hear. It declares their sins and tells them to repent. It is one where the world hates you for what you say. There is no doubt, even from our offices here in Wyoming the coming trials will arrive as it will upon all the earth. There is also no other thing to do but trust in, rely on, and cling to, the Son of the Living God, Yeshua Ha Massiach. His presence, faithfulness, grace, and mercy will be us until the end of this season of adversity. Make no mistake it is coming, and the message is simple, “repent and seek the LORD, for the Day of the LORD and His Wrath will be upon the nations.”
