After the golden calf we find Moses going to the children of Israel with a covenant renewal. The incident is over with the calf, but the Lord will still plague them for their sin with the calf. Moses ascends the mount again for a 40 day miracle fast of no food and water. When he comes down again he has two more plates with commandments on them and a face shining like a golden city.
The Israelites have found grace in the LORDS sight and in the process the prophet Moses was able to see the Lord pass by while hearing the name of the Lord God. Here we find the mercy, grace, longsuffering, of this God. Meanwhile as Moses face shines those around him fear. They had never seen anything like it and soon, however it will pass. We discuss the glory and the fading of the glory, but the permanence of the Glory of God which will be revealed upon all those redeemed through Yeshua. This section is a challenge, a hope, a covenant, and a place is found for repentance along with a promise. That is, the presence of the Lord God. We finish with a short overview of the coming feasts. Don’t miss this one!
Exo 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
Exo 32:2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
Exo 32:3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
