Zephaniah meets head on with the nation of Judah, its people, priests, and prophets. The cry is there are Impurities upon Zion. Here Zephaniah tells the people of Judah that the great day of th e LORD is near, it is near and hasteth greatly. In the midst of Judgment we find Judah heading for a great day of calamity and will meet face to face with their God, as his nostrils flare in righteous Judgment over their sins. Yet, though Zephaniah also carries a secret here, one revealed in his name, Zephaniah, literally meaning “Yah hath treasured”, or “secreted or hidden”.
For America the types and similarities with the people of Judah and its religious structure is evident. America too has a date with the LORD. A great day, a calamity will come. Zephaniah takes us through the picture of Judah and Jerusalem as the LORD says he will search out the city with a “candle”, making sure those who are comfortable and say that the “LORD will not do good, nor will he do evil”. These are the rebellious, the self-assured, the unrighteous, who do not even consider the LORD. As Jerusalem and Judah falls around the ears of the people the voice of the destruction cries out and in this we find the judgment, the fire moving across the face of the earth in a refining that only can come from the LORD.
Zephaniah stands with the other prophets of a time tested prophecy and one which America, her people, and its churches must heed. It is the stumbling blocks of the wicked along with the wicked which shall be removed. It is these stumbling blocks which is the root cause of the sin, along with the rebellion of man. It is also the falling back of the churches, priests, and prophets who no longer stand in the gap against sin and say “thus saith the LORD!” Indeed, pay attention to Zephaniah or ignore it at your own risk. The word is given, the command is come forth, and the people must decide. Where shall you stand on that day, the great day of the LORD when that day comes calling?

The Baby boomers Generation started when soldiers came home from winning World War II and then took wives. This resulted in the generation of boomers we know today. Retro here refers to that generation, one that many look back to as one of peace, prosperity, and success. It was the generation that saw and continues to see so much.

Today the Baby boomers are either in retirement or coming close to it. This generation has seen the greatest prosperity of any generation. They have seen the greatest technological advances. These boomers have been paid more, making more money than previous generations. Today with this generation it is not enough to be just a millionaire. No, they must be multi-millionaires or billionaires. It is okay to make money and greed is no longer seen in a negative light. I am one of these boomers who have seen this. I testify to it. I remember as a lad, it was the thought of being a millionaire that possessed many who wanted to do well. Today, that simply is not good enough. This generation fought in the Vietnam conflict, and many also entered other subsequent wars.

Nineveh Scales of Justice

Nineveh finds the scale of Justice and when they do, the author of this is the Lord God. It is He who applies the scale of justice, for He is the Lord of justice. Nations and men seem or are willing to be complicit in their own deceptions. They ignore the warnings, the signs, and the Word of God which has been given to us to gain wisdom, to bring us to repentance, that we may be delivered. Men though forget that there is coming a day for Justice and like Nineveh it will visit.
Nineveh had previously found repentance when Jonah came preaching. Thus Nineveh having repented we find the Lord also repented of the judgment he would have sent had they not repented. Now some 70 years later judgment and justice has found Nineveh again. The Kingdom is seen and called out for her sins. Nineveh, the multitude of whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot says the Prophet Nahum. Nineveh is the mistress of witchcrafts which sells nations through her whoredoms and families through her witchcrafts. Nineveh is guilty and this time repentance is not found.
